Intelligent Automation Solutions by Digital Workforce Propel Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust to HSJ Digital Award’s Finalists Shortlist

Digital Workforce, a leading provider of Primary and Clinical Intelligent Automation and Patient Journey Orchestration solutions, is proud to announce that three remarkable transformation projects deployed by Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust have been short-listed for the highly coveted HSJ Digital Awards. The event recognises outstanding contributions towards healthcare services, and being shortlisted as finalists for this prestigious national award demonstrates the Trusts exceptional drive to innovate healthcare and their instrumental role in transforming patient waiting times and experiences.

Digital Workforce and PSTG partnered with Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust to deliver the revolutionary Maternity Intelligent Automation Transformation Programme. The solution automates maternity appointments, referrals, alerts, and record management processes – reducing the time it takes pregnant women to receive an appointment date from 6-8 weeks to just 48 hours – and has been nominated for the esteemed ‘Improving back-office efficiencies through digital’ award.

Fredrik Kaksonen, Head of UK Healthcare at Digital Workforce, commended the project, stating that “The Maternity Intelligent Automation Transformation Programme is one of the most ambitious automation initiatives we have had the pleasure to be a part of in the NHS, and while the project itself was challenging, the outcomes of the program are truly remarkable. The benefits seen by patients and Maternity Services staff are a great testament to the impact automation can deliver healthcare when focusing on the patient journey and applying technology with the end-users in mind. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Portsmouth’s Maternity Services and the Automation & Innovation team and our trusted partner PSTG on this exciting and innovative project.”

Juha Järvi, Head of Healthcare Global of Digital Workforce, has shared, “We are delighted that the HSJ Digital Awards have recognised our collaboration with Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and PSTG. These nominations showcase the transformative power of Intelligent Automation and Patient Journey orchestration in healthcare, highlighting the dedication and innovation demonstrated by the teams involved. We are honoured to have played a role in this groundbreaking project and congratulate all the shortlisted teams for their remarkable achievements.”

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust has been working with Digital Workforce to transform healthcare for over three years. The trust has always been highly innovative and were finalists at the HSJ Awards 2021 awards for our Emergency Ambulance Transfers solution. We now hope to surpass the shortlist and win the award in Manchester on June 22nd.

The HSJ Digital Awards is nationally recognised and has received an overwhelming 314 entries from 120 organisations this year. Digital Workforce congratulates all the finalists and commends their commitment to innovating healthcare services for patients and staff, sharing best practices, improving patient outcomes, and continuously driving for better service. As HSJ’s editor, Alastair McLellan, said, “The award ceremony is not just a celebration within a night, but a platform to recognise the hard work of all our NHS staff, all year round.”
